How long have you been a technology coordinator? Started as a teacher and part time technology coordinator for 5 years and moved to full time coordinator now it is 12 years, but still do teach some classes. 3. What do you envision as your primary role in your position? Helping teachers integrate technology in their curriculum. 4. Please list ALL of your duties as a technology coordinator. (OK, so buy her/him another cup of coffee.) Responsible for network including wireless, and all tech repairs, maintenance of all switches and servers, and technology development. I have two staff helping one as technology assistance helping with repairs, and the other is part time technology integration. 5. What sort of assistance do you receive in doing your job? 6. I have two staff helping me, one as technology assistance helping with repairs, and the other is part time technology integration. 7. What are the parts of the job that you really enjoy? I enjoy helping teachers with integration of technology. I also enjoy kids using technology, we are 1:1 school, providing kids with computers to take come. I enjoy being around the kids. 8. What parts of the job would you rather have someone else do? Doing the school website, doing all updates, I am trying to put someone else, but keep coming back to me. That is one part of the job that I don’t really like. 9. If you could restructure your position and responsibilities, how would you do it? I will give my self-time to do more integration parts. Since I am here for long time I know how the system works, and how to do it, and assign someone else to do maintenance and repairs. 10. What words of wisdom do you have for successfully Coordinating Technology in an Educational Setting? The big thing is you get to continue support teachers, and students. Teachers have to be up to date, if they feel comfort to it they will use it. Since we are not a big school one of these jobs can’t be a full time by itself.
